The Verona High School boys soccer team celebrated its Senior Night on Friday, and it was perhaps fitting that a senior scored the goal that turned the game into a draw.

The game pitted Verona against Newark’s Science Park High School. John Sousa scored for the Chargers but it was Brian McEvoy that made the game for Verona fans. McEvoy was one of six seniors honored at the game, along with Jake Weber, Matt Dolloway, Christian Campos, Robert Parent and Grady Short.

The Hillbillies are now 2-4-3 on the season. The boys host Seton Hall Prep on Tuesday, one day after the VHS girls soccer team celebrates its Senior Night.
