Cub Scouts Hold Raingutter Regatta

By on June 13, 2018

raingutter regattaThis past weekend, Verona Pack 32 Cub Scouts had a fun afternoon racing sailboats at the Pack’s annual Raingutter Regatta.

Prior to the event, the participating Cub Scouts built and decorated their sailboats with an array of designs inspired by popular movies (like Star Wars), video games (Five Nights At Freddy’s and Minecraft were popular) and novelty toys like Legos. Due to rainy weather, Cub Scout Leaders made the decision to move the event indoors instead of canceling the annual event. Traditional rain gutters are used when the event is held outdoors.

Trophies were awarded for first, second and third place winners, Best Scout Spirit and Best Sportsmanship. This year’s Raingutter Regatta participants did their best in demonstrating the value of good sportsmanship by cheering for one another other and shaking hands after races.
