The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona proudly announces its $5,000 donation to the Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence (VFEE). Erika Grothues, president of the Verona Juniors, presented the donation to VFEE Chairperson Michelle Posner at the VFEE Annual Soiree on April 20.

VFEE is a non-profit organization offering grants to Verona educators designed to enhance and enrich the classroom experience for students in the Verona school district.

The Juniors’ fundraising efforts throughout the year made this sizable donation possible. The $5,000 donation is in the top five highest single donations made to VFEE to date, and the highest donation made to the organization in the last five years.

The Junior Woman’s Club of Verona is a versatile organization that has been involved in social and charitable work since its inception in 1926. The Juniors address Verona’s diverse needs by promoting education, preserving natural resources, encouraging healthy lifestyles, working on behalf of the elderly and people with disabilities, supporting participation in the arts and advocating for issues of concern to women children and families.

Anyone interested in learning more about this very active organization of women is welcome to contact [email protected]. Prospective members also are welcome at business meetings, which are held the second Wednesday of each month (except April, July, August and December) at 8:00 p.m. in the Verona Community Center.
