The First Presbyterian Church of Verona, located at 10 Fairview Avenue, welcomes all to the following Holy Week events.
Sunday, March 25 at 10:15 a.m.: During the Palm Sunday service three choirs will add to the celebration of the triumphant arrival of Christ into Jerusalem.
Maundy Thursday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m.: The church will share a simple meal of soup, salad and bread. Bring your favorite soup to share! Following the meal, all are invited to quietly walk to the Narthex for hand washing before proceeding into the Sanctuary for a service of worship, music and communion.
Good Friday, March 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: There will be a children’s workshop for children ages 5-11. Participants will enjoy music, craft, an egg hunt and lunch Cost is $10 per child. Please pre-register by calling the church at 973-239-3561.
Good Friday, March 30, noon: There will be a solemn noon-time service in the sanctuary. This short services lets us walk with Christ during the last moments of his life.
Sunday, April 1: Easter service begins at 10:15 a.m. We will celebrate with worship, communion and music sung by multiple choirs and accompanied by organ, timpani and trumpet. All are invited to join the choir at the end of the service to sing Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.”
