Suicide Prevention Talk Coming To Holy Spirit

AFSP Talk Saves LivesThe Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Verona will be hosting two presentations of “Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention”, a program of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The presentations are sponsored by AFSP New Jersey Chapter and funds raised at the 2017 Montclair-Verona Out of the Darkness Walk last October.

“Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention” is a community-based presentation that covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention and what people can do to fight suicide. Attendees will learn the risk and warning signs of suicide and how together we can help prevent it. Learn what suicide is, who it affects, what we know about it and what can be done to prevent it.

The presentations will be held on Monday, March 12, and Thursday, April 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. on both evenings. They are open to community members age 15 or older who want to learn more about suicide prevention, and the presentations are free. Email Elizabeth at [email protected] to reserve your spot.

Holy Spirit is located at 36 Gould Street, opposite the field at H.B. Whitehorne Middle School near the center of Verona. There is ample parking at the church and on the street.
