The Verona High School Music Department is proud to announce that senior George Du Laney will be performing in the Bass section of the New Jersey School Music Association (NJSMA) Region I Choir Festival today, Saturday, January 27.

Du Laney auditioned successfully earlier in January and will perform with hundreds of students from the north New Jersey area. Auditioning students were required to prepare a memorized solo, sing several scales and perform a tonal memory sight-singing exercise. Du Laney is sponsored by Sean Clancy and Claire Ma, choir directors at Verona High School where he participates in Jazz Band, Jazz Choir and Chamber Choir.

The NJSMA Region I Choir Festival will begin at 4 p.m., Saturday, January 27, at Bloomfield High School and admission is free. Bloomfield High School is located at 160 Broad Street in Bloomfield and there is ample parking.
