Yes, there’s still plenty of football left in Verona. The Verona Eagles A, B and C varsity teams are headed into playoff games on Sunday afternoon and the A team goes in with an impressive 7-0-1 record.
The B team will kick things off against Fairfield at noon. That will be followed by the C team against West Essex at 1:30 p.m. The A team squares off against Florham Park/East Hanover at 3. All games will be held at home on Freedom Field, which is behind the Verona Community Center.
The Verona Eagles program, which includes both youth football and cheerleading, played its inaugural season in 1966. Eagles teams participate in the 12-team West Essex Junior Football League, with weight limits in each age division.
