The number on Lara Tole’s jersey is 3, but she just couldn’t stop with that last night. With a hat trick to her credit before the first period even ended, the Verona High School junior added two more goals to her tally before the girls soccer team closed a 6-1 win over Newark East Side.
It was senior night for Verona, and senior goalie Anna Rosinski marked it with nine saves, her best record since early September. Rosinski and Isabel Latorre are the only two seniors on this year’s squad and their parents were at Centennial Field last night to help them celebrate.
Sarah Carlucci also scored a goal and was credited with three assists. Jade Azevedo scored the lone goal for East Side. The win puts the Verona girls at 5-8 on the season. They face Newark Academy on Thursday on the lower field at VHS.
