There was a big turnout at the Verona Kids Rock bike ride on Sunday in support of safe bike riding for Verona families.
Verona Kids Rock, which involves elementary school children in community service, held the bike rally to show their support for safe biking in our local parks. The kids rode their bikes from Brookside Terrace to F.N. Brown elementary school and back, and collected donations for the Verona Police Department, which will be passed along to hurricane relief efforts. VPD Officer Justin Nielsen helped to lead the children along the route.
“So many were motivated to keep this sport alive and young amongst the community,” says Dina Lilly, the parent who heads the group. “We hope to achieve this one day in our parks as well.” Verona Kids Rock hopes to make the ride an annual event, or perhaps even twice a year.
