Verona Kids Rock has always wanted to visit the Verona Rescue Squad in honor of the many men and women who help keep the community safe. They got to do that on Monday, September 11, when they brought a bagel platter, cookies, and a small donation. “They were amazed and so interested of all the hard work these folks put in, day in and day out,” says Dina Lilly, the parent who heads the group, which makes it possible for elementary school students to do community service. “[The Rescue Squad] gives their hearts, time, and save lives. “They truly are always here to the rescue.”
Verona Kids Rock is now gearing up for its next event, a bike rally to show their support for safe biking in our local parks. On Sunday, September 17, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., the kids will ride their bikes from Brookside Terrace to F.N. Brown Elementary school and back. In keeping with their community philanthropy, they’ll also be collecting donations for the Verona Police Department.
