Mr. Robert H. Boeck, 80, died on July 31, 2017 at his home in Verona. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Notre Dame Church, North Caldwell on Friday, August 4 at 10 a.m. Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Born in Newark, Mr. Boeck lived in Bloomfield and Montclair before moving to Verona in 1969.
He had a long career as a chemist, specializing in dyes.
Mr. Boeck and his late wife, Virginia, were among the founders of the Friends of Verona Library, where he also served as treasurer and they were honored this past May for their many years of service. He was also a long-time member of the Verona Student Educational Assistance Association, the Verona Shade Tree Commission and the Verona Park Conservancy.
Mr. Boeck was the beloved husband of the late Virginia R. Boeck and loving father of Peter F. Boeck.
