Mr. Robert W. Rodgers, 83, died on July 2, 2017 at his home in Verona. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mmass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
Born in Newark, Mr. Rodgers moved to Verona in 1971.
He was a master plasterer with the James McHugh Company in Montclair, retiring 20 years ago.
Mr. Rodgers was active with the Knights of Columbus, Fr. James J. Kelly – Council 3632 in Verona /Cedar Grove and served as Grand Knight.
He is the husband of Margaret M. (nee Neilan) Rodgers, the father of Brian Rodgers (Melissa), Patricia Bertron (Dennis), Dr. Mary J. Gentine (Tony), Mark Rodgers (Judy), Sharon Rodgers and Susan Rodgers. He was also the brother of Maureen Griswold, Maryann Rodgers, Eileen Rodgers and the grandfather of 12. He was predeceased by his brother Francis X. Rodgers.
