The Verona Public Library has been relocated to the Annex building behind the Verona Community Center.
Don’t let the kids have all the fun! Adults are invited to participate in the Verona Public Library’s Summer Reading Club. This year’s Summer Reading theme of “Build a Better World” is especially timely as we’re currently “building a better library” with a major renovation of our historic Carnegie Library building (remaining open in a temporary space behind the Verona Community Center). Verona residents of all ages are invited to participate in our various Summer Reading events, and of course, check out lots of great books! If you haven’t found us yet, drop by the Verona Community Center Annex building where we’re still offering all the great library materials and services that we always have.

Take the Book Bingo Reading Challenge: Read for fun & prizes! Download a Bingo card from our website (or pick one up at the Library). Read from the different categories and receive a ticket for a prize drawing when you complete five in a row. Challenge yourself! Prizes include a Kindle eReader and gift certificates from Verona Inn, Baked Bouquet, Kings, Nellie & Bean, and Watchung Booksellers. Tickets may also be received for attending any of the following events (open to Verona residents only, please).

Meditation & Relaxation: Thursdays at 10 a.m. in the Firemen’s Room of the Verona Community Center (upstairs). July 6 – Aug. 24. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket.

Knitting Caps for Chemo: Thursdays at 7 p.m., July 6 – Aug. 10. Materials provided, but registration is required. Led by Virginia Citrano. Participants will learn to make hats for chemotherapy patients, which they can donate to St. Barnabas Hospital or give to the cancer patient of their choice. There are patterns for women, men and children so that anyone experiencing treatment-induced hair loss can feel warm in a treatment room or outside. Receiving a chemo cap can also lift the spirits of a patient experiencing a health crisis. Please join us. All levels of knitting experience welcome!

Grand Finale Stop Throwing Money Away!: Turn Trash to Treasure (& Save the Planet While You’re at It!). Tuesday, August 15 at 7 p.m. in the Firemen’s Room of the Verona Community Center (upstairs). Organizing guru and author Jamie Novak will be on hand to help us clear the clutter and make the world a better place. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Prize drawing to follow.

The Library is currently located in the Annex Building of the Verona Community Center at 880 Bloomfield Ave., Verona, NJ. Visit the Library’s website for more information: www.veronalibrary.org
