Making a meaningful contribution to our community has been at the core of Carrie Ford’s Town Council campaign from the beginning. And now as the campaign enters its last week, she is inviting the Verona community to an event to raise funds and awareness for the Verona Rescue Squad.

With a twist on the popular voter outreach initiative, “Rock the Vote,” Ford’s campaign will be hosting “Rock the Block Party for Ford.” This family-friendly event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, on East Reid Place, during which donations to the Rescue Squad will be collected. With live music, face painting and games for all ages, the event is sure to be a lot of fun. All Verona residents are welcome.

Carrie Ford first kicked off her campaign with a Meet and Greet in which attendees were encouraged to bring donations for the Holy Spirit Food Pantry. People were both generous and enthusiastic, contributing a trunk-full of nonperishable items to benefit local individuals and families in need.

Ford has met so many Verona residents who have dedicated themselves to giving back to the community, and she is inspired to do the same. “I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my legal skills and experience to our town’s governance. As an attorney and corporate negotiator, I focus on getting the best partnerships and services for the best price for my employer.”

“When you ask Carrie why she is running, she will tell you she loves Verona and wants to give back. She was raised in a family who taught her how important it is to use her skills and education to benefit not only her own family, but the community she lives in,” said Monica Cleary, Campaign Manager of the Ford Campaign. Ford’s father and uncle are lifelong volunteer firefighters in the town where she grew up.

Election Day is Tuesday, May 9th. To learn more about Carrie Ford and the campaign, including the Rock the Block Party event, please visit www.FordforVerona.com or facebook.com/ford4verona. Or contact Carrie Ford at [email protected].
