Monday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 9 mark the annual tryouts for Verona United Soccer Club. Now in its 18th year, Verona United fields boys and girls teams from U7 through U19 in both the Northern Counties and EDP travel leagues.
Tryouts are conducted by Verona United’s official training partner The New York Red Bulls. The Red Bulls work closely with Verona in creating a training program and game strategy for each team.
In 2016, two VUSC girls teams and three VUSC boys teams were champions in their respective travel leagues and one U12 boys team went on to win the 2016 Northern Counties Cup.
Club President Matthew Bosco said: “It’s great that the club has seen an explosion of growth and success in recent years. Our focus remains squarely on inclusion and allowing development regardless of skill level and that seems to be working. Verona United is intent on helping to create great soccer players and great people”.
The partnership with the New York Red Bulls also offers club members exclusive access to Red Bulls and Red Bulls II games and game-day activities. Several Verona United players have been selected by the Red Bulls to participate in their Red Bulls Regional Development School.
