EmergencyHornThis May 9, Verona voters will choose from among six candidates to fill three seats on the Verona Town Council. To help voters meet the candidates and learn about their views, MyVeronaNJ.com will be holding a candidates forum and asking every candidate to respond to a weekly question about the issues facing Verona.

On Saturday, March 11, MyVeronaNJ.com asked the six candidates one question, which they had to respond to by noon on Tuesday. Candidates’ responses are listed in the order in which they were received, and MyVeronaNJ.com did not edit the answers in any way, including grammar, spelling or length. Candidates were also asked to send a photo, and the URLs to their campaign websites or social media.

Mayor Kevin Ryan is running for re-election. The other candidates are Donna Cannizzaro, Carrie Ford, Edward “Ted” Giblin, Jack McEvoy and Christopher Piccuirro.  (Councilmen Jay Sniatkowski and Bob Manley are not seeking reelection). Clicking on each name will take you to the page in this story with their answer; you can also click on the arrows to advance through.

Question 1: What do you consider to be the major issue facing Verona and what would you do about it if elected?
