Holy Spirit would like to be this well stocked for Christmas shoppers.

The food pantry at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit will be open on Saturday, December 24 from 9 a.m. to noon, but the church needs help now restocking the shelves.

As of early December 6, the most urgently needed items are:

  • mayonnaise
  • mustard
  • ketchup
  • jelly
  • crackers
  • small boxes of tea bags
  • toothpaste
  • canned meats
  • snack packs for kids
  • laundry detergent
  • deodorant
  • shaving cream
  • disposable razors
  • tissues
  • dish detergent
  • face cream
  • cleaning products: glass cleaner, etc.
  • aluminum foil and/or plastic wrap
  • coffee
  • individual fruit cups
  • juice & juice boxes
  • chocolate milk in kid-size boxes
  • salad dressing
  • spices
  • salt and pepper
  • canned or dry cat and dog food
  • bar soap
  • liquid hand soap
  • cooking oil
  • baking items: flour, sugar
  • sugar-free cookies

Holy Spirit says it doesn’t need pasta, canned vegetables or canned beans at this time, except for whole wheat or gluten-free pasta. It also doesn’t need more  baby diapers now. Donations can be dropped off at any time in the bin located just outside the parking lot door of the church building at 36 Gould Street (opposite the middle school field).

In addition to food, the church also accepts donations to buy low inventory items and provide gift cards to shoppers. The Food Pantry is a ministry of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit and your financial donation is tax deductible.

For more information, contact the church office at [email protected] or (973) 239-2850.
