When the curtain rises on New Jersey Ballet‘s Nutcracker, Verona resident Renata Curcio will be in the cast. NJB’s Nutcracker is the longest running original professional production in the state. This year Curcio, who is in the production for the fifth year, will take the role of Angel and also Mouse, and appear in nearly all the performances, beginning opening night, December 9, at Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will accompany the dancers.
Curcio, a ninth grader at Verona High School, has been studying ballet since she was five years old and began at Verona’s TADA with Elaine Kudo and Buddy Balou. She has trained at NJB and French Woods Camp for the Performing Arts. She is also a proud member of the VHS Marching Maroon and White.
