With the summer months and vacations, inventory is low at Verona’s Holy Spirit’s Food Pantry. To get it ready for its next open day on Saturday, September 24, it is having a pop-up pantry drop this Sunday, September 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your donations to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 36 Gould Street, in Verona, so it can fill its shelves to the brim in just one week.
Here’s what the pantry really needs right now: cereal, oatmeal, snack packs, juice and juice boxes, facial tissues, cleaning products, boxed milk (including kid-sized boxes), granola bars and cereal bars, personal care items like shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, lotions, coffee, crackers and cookies.
Pantry organizers say they already have plenty of canned beans, canned soup, canned veggies, pasta and pasta sauce, including canned tomatoes of all types.
