Candle3Mrs. Gwendolyn “Lynn” Acocella, 73, died on Monday, August 8, 2016 in Livingston. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Cassian’s Church, Upper Montclair on Friday, August 12, at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Acocella grew up in Bloomfield and moved to Verona in 1965.

She was a claims adjuster for Fairview Associates in Verona for 25 years, retiring in 2013.

Mrs. Acocella was a member of the Essex Watercolor Club and enjoyed her local Bridge and Mahjong groups.

She was the wife of the late Norman F. Acocella and is survived by her children, Gordon A. Acocella, Scott A. Acocella (and his wife, Denise), Jean Zack; her siblings, William Kenneth Batzle, Edward Batzle, Jeffrey Batzle, Kate Ward, her sister-in-law, Roberta Igler and her grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, James, Marc, Alex, Nicholas and Bethany.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Verona Rescue Squad, 12 Church Street, Verona, NJ 07044 would be appreciated.
