car-cartoonThe Verona Recreation Department is letting everyone know that there will be an AARP Smart Driver class at the Verona Community Center on Tuesday, September 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The class will be taught by a trained AARP driver safety volunteer, Bill Keenan.

The AARP Smart Driver course will review the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate a vehicle more safely in today’s traffic. Participants who complete the class–there is no test to take–get a certificate that can help them get a three-year reduction in their car insurance premiums.

The fee for the course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members, which is due when you register. Pre-registration is necessary and class size is limited. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch during the program, so the Rec Departments is advising attendees to bring lunch and a beverage.

To register, call Bill Keenan at 973 226-7046.
