Girl Scouts Fight Hunger

GirlScouts20549Members of Verona Girl Scout Troop 20549, as part of their Bronze Award Project, are organizing Operation Stop Hunger, to benefit The Human Needs Food Pantry in Montclair. This pantry is the largest suburban food pantry in Essex County, serving registered clients from 14 towns for over 30 years.

A collection will take place outside Kings Supermarket, in Verona, on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items needed include canned tuna, peanut butter, canned soups, canned vegetables, canned fruits, rice, pasta, dried beans, breakfast cereal, diapers, baby wipes, and toothpaste.

Additional collections bins will be set up, for student drop off only, at F.N. Brown School and H.B. Whitehorne Middle School during the weeks of May 2 and May 13.
