To The Editor:

On behalf of us all at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, I want to thank everyone who attended the Volunteers’ Open House for the upcoming Food Pantry here at Holy Spirit. We hope everyone found it informative and that you can all see yourselves being involved in this ministry. Should anyone have any questions between now and our opening (April 23), please let us know by calling the church office at 973-239-2850.

As mentioned, if you are aware of anyone that may require food assistance (even before April 23), please have them reach out to us via email or phone. We are very sensitive to people’s privacy and will do whatever we can to ensure the anonymity of recipients.

With regards to donations of items, here is a list of things we are in low supply of: canned fruit, individual fruit cups, pasta sauce, juice boxes, snack packs for kids, chocolate milk in kid-size boxes, tea in small boxes (24s, 48s), condiments, cooking oil, peanut butter, jelly, packaged milk (like Parmalat) plus laundry detergent and personal care items.

We’ll be in contact again in early April as the plans for opening get settled. We look forward to working with you to make a difference in our community.

Peace,
Fr. Jerry
