The Verona Lions Club will be at the Fair in the Square this Saturday. The long-time community service group will once again be offering free eye screenings by a licensed optometrist. It will also be selling tickets for its annual 50/50 raffle, which supports all of the Lions’ volunteer giving services. “It’s important to note that 100% of all funds go to the services we provide,” says Lion Andy Burger, “such as the free medical equipment Loan Closet, and medical transportation for Verona residents, college scholarships, the eye Sscreening at Fair in the Square and much more.”

If you want to join the Lions in their civic activities, they meet on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Avenue Bistro, which is located at 558 Bloomfield Avenue in the center of town.
