Mrs. Christine J. Gilmore, 98, died on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in West Orange. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will be held in the United Methodist Church of Verona on Thursday, October 29 at 10 a.m.
Born in Wilson County, North Carolina, Mrs. Gilmore lived in Verona for 32 years prior to moving to West Orange in 1984. She was a secretary for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Montclair for 18 years, retiring in 1985. Mrs. Gilmore enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Verona.
Mrs. Gilmore was predeceased by her husband, John Franklin Gilmore, and is survived by her children and their spouses, John and Elaine Gilmore, Joann and Mike LaBrunda, Rod and Daria Gilmore; her sisters Lucille Seely and Josephine Creason, and her brother, Roscoe Joyner. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
