The Verona Lions Club is a service organization dedicated to the health and well-being of Verona residents. We are seeking civic-minded individuals to join our organization and make a difference in our community. Our club gives members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, to become leaders in the community and to work side by side with old and new friends for the betterment of Verona and its residents.

The Lions’ motto is “We Serve” and the Verona Lions Club has lived up to it. Since 1951, the Verona Lions have served the community by providing services such as hearing and sight testing. We also collect eyeglasses to be refurbished and redistributed, around the world, to those who can’t afford new glasses. In addition, our club maintains a Hospital Loan Closet. In the event a Verona resident requires a wheel chair, hospital bed, cane, crutches or almost any other health aid, the Verona Lions will deliver it to the resident’s home and set it up.

The Verona Lions Club is very proud to have donated a car to the town of Verona, which is used to transport the sick and elderly to doctor’s appointments. The vehicle is generally driven by a Verona municipal employee, but members of the Verona Lions Club volunteer to drive the car and provide services, every year, for the entire month of March.

The Verona Lions Club Raises money through various events and activities such as the annual Super 50/50 Raffle and the “White Cane Program”. All monies are redistributed to various charities, organizations and individuals within the township of Verona. The Verona Lions Club provides scholarships to several Verona High School seniors every year. We also provide holiday food baskets and gift cards to several needy Verona families.

The Verona Lions Club is also a social organization; we currently have nearly 40 active members, all of whom are highly motivated and community minded individuals who enjoy working and socializing together. In addition to our twice-monthly dinner meetings our members enjoy several social events including Charter Night, Awards Night, and an elegant Holiday Party.

If you would like to become a member of the Verona Lions Club and make a difference or would like to have more information about the organization, please contact Frank Ricciardi, Membership Chairman, or any of the officers listed below. We are always interested in recruiting new members and making new friends.

Sincerely

Frank Ricciardi Steve Janett, President, [email protected] Membership Chairman Myron Spektor, 1st Vice President, [email protected] 973-267-0587 Bill Abele, 2nd Vice President, [email protected] [email protected] Bob Mather, 3rd Vice President, [email protected]
