Nina Machnowski, 13, won fifth place in the Windham World Cup CAT 2 Women’s race on Saturday, which pitted her against women up to 34 years old.
The Windham mountain bike race is the eighth of the nine UCI World Cup races, and the only one in the United States. On Sunday, Olympian mountain bike racers are tackling the course. Race organizers say the dry and hot conditions have made the Windham courses especially difficult this year.
