Mrs. Silvia M. Maffei died June 7, 2015 at University Hospital in Newark. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Born in Gorizia, Italy, Mrs. Maffei moved to Verona in 1966 and later to Lakewood in 2012.
She was the beloved wife of Frank J. Maffei, the loving mother of Frank P. Maffei, Erich Maffei and the late Michael J. Maffei and grandmother of Jeremy, Joseph and Jillian Maffei. She is also survived by her brother Sergio Princi in Switzerland and many, many “fourth sons”.
Because Mrs. Maffei received a liver transplant 17 years ago, the family has requested donations in her memory to the New Jersey Sharing Network at www.njsharingnetwork.org.
