The Verona Sports Boosters would like to congratulate Mike Cifaretto as the Boys Senior Athlete of the Week.
Mike is a member of the Verona High School baseball team, which is 8-4 on the season. Mike is currently batting .400, with 7 RBI.
His greatest VHS sports memory was winning the state championship in football last year. His favorite coach is Ray Bowes. He is a fan of the New York Yankees and enjoys watching the TV show “The League”.
Mike chose Vince Wilfork of The New England Patriots as someone he’d enjoy having dinner with, saying Wilfork looks like a good eater. Mac and cheese is Cif’s favorite food, and he says going to Disney was his best vacation ever.
This Fall Mike will be attending Susquehanna University, where he will play football and study sociology. The Verona Sports Boosters wishes Mike good luck this baseball season and next year at Susquehanna.
