Nina Machnowski, a seventh grade student at H.B. Whitehorne Middle School, was awarded the 2014 overall regional championship in mountain biking CAT 3 Women 12 to 18 on Friday, January 16.
The Jamis H2H Race Series consists of eight races from early April to September. Machnowski participated in all eight races and won seven of them. The races included Chain Stretcher (WMBA), Wawayanda Spring Cleaning (Black Bear Cycling), Rumble in the Jungle (Team Town Cycle), Lewis Morris Challenge (Marty’s Reliable Cycle), Bulldog Rump (Cycle Craft/Team Bulldog) Tacnonic 909 Challenge (Eastern Sports Promotions), Mountain Creek Summer Scramble (Mountain Creek Bike Park) and Tymor Park Challenge (Eastern Sports Promotions). The event took place at the Hilton in Rockaway.
