For the first Sunday in Advent, the children at the First Presbyterian Church of Verona lit the candle of Hope on the Advent wreath. They then went outside to set up the crèche on the church’s front lawn.
Finally they came inside, made cookies and decorated them. These cookies will be sold next Sunday at the church’s Alternative Christmas Mall. Funds raised will be donated to Heifer International, a organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty.
