Now is the best time to join the Friends of the Verona Public Library, a group of volunteers and donors committed to Verona’s most treasured asset-–the Verona Public Library.
Members of the Friends get to attend the annual Friends of the Verona Public Library Book Sale on opening day. This year the sale opens on Thursday, December 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Members get a chance to sort through an expansive collection of thousands of books and DVDs and have the best selection of these incredible bargains before the sale opens to the public on Friday, December 5.
In recent years the Friends have helped the Verona Public Library plan and fund many special events for both adults and children. They started offering activities for children during Verona’s Family Nights, have hosted countless speakers on topics ranging from woman’s history, organic farming, 9/11 and allergies in children, help supply the library with extra funds when needed, and supported several Verona Public Library open houses.
Memberships in the Friends start as low as $10 for an individual and $15 for a family. To join and pay via credit card, go to the Verona Public Library’s website and click on the Friends button on the right hand side. You can also donate via check by sending your donation along with your name, address, and email address to Friends of the Verona Public Library, 17 Gould Street, Verona, NJ 07044.
The Friends are also looking for donations of gently used books for their sale and new volunteers to help with this very important fundraiser. Interested volunteers or questions about book donations can be directed to [email protected].
