On behalf of the Junior Woman’s Club of Verona, we would like to thank the community for supporting our recent backpack and school supply drive for needy families in Verona. Due to the overwhelming generosity of the community and our partnership with Abdallah Khetir, Walgreens-Verona store manager, we were able to give 40 filled backpacks to our town’s Health & Social Services Program Coordinator, Connie Pifher. There was a backpack for every child who needed one! Special thanks to all of Verona’s elementary schools: Brookdale, F.N. Brown, Forest Avenue and Laning. We’d also like to thank Verona High School, Girl Scout Troop 20228 and Verona Dental Group. We’re very thankful to everyone involved in making our 2014 “Packs with Purpose” initiative successful.
