Essex County is once again holding its Essex County parks photography contest, and if you want your photos in it, you’ve got to submit them by Wednesday, September 17.
The contest has a category for adults (18 and older) and youth photographers (17 and under). The photo must have been taken within any Essex County park during the current contest year–Verona Park is one of those parks, by the way.
The county says no more than two entries per person. You’ve got to complete an entry form for each photograph and pictures must be submitted as an unframed, 8×10-inch print. If you shoot digital (and who doesn’t these days), the county says you must provide a digital copy of the photograph in addition to the print.
Judging will be done by a group of professionals, with decisions based on creativity, technical superiority, composition, and the photograph’s depiction of the uniqueness of the Essex County Parks System. Color and black and white prints will be judged together.
The photographs will be on display at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland from Saturday, October 4 through Friday, October 31. You can download the contest rules, regulations and entry form here.
