Fortgang Selected For Paper Mill Concert

By on July 1, 2014

Fortgang-SoundOfMusic-RehearsalVerona middle school student Maya Fortgang is among 120 young artists who have been chosen for the Paper Mill Playhouse’s Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory. The Conservatory is a five-week musical theater program that culminates in an original concert show. Students take classes in musical theater performance, acting, dance, and improvisation, while attending guest workshops led by professional actors, directors, and casting agents. (Anne Hathaway, who appeared in Les Miserables and The Princess Diaries, is one of several notable Conservatory alumni.)

This is not Fortgang’s first appearance at the Paper Mill. In September 2012, she auditioned for and won the role of Brigitta Von Trapp in its production of The Sound of Music, earning very favorable notices for her performance.

This summer’s Conservatory show, New Voices of 2014: Oh, What a Night!, takes place at the Paper Mill on Friday, August 1, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 2, at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Single tickets range in price from $25 to $45. Tickets may be purchased by calling (973) 376-4343, online at, or visit the Paper Mill Playhouse Box Office at 22 Brookside Drive in Millburn. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted.
