Walsh Picked For North-South Football Game

Robbie WalshRobbie Walsh, a Verona resident, who was a co-captain of the St. Peter’s Prep football team, has been picked to play in the Phil Simms 2014 North/South High School All Star Football Classic. The game will be played on Monday, June 23, at Piscataway High School’s Ciardi Field. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The North/South game is in its 36th year and was recently endorsed by former Giants’ quarterback Phil Simms. Only two Verona players have previously been selected for the team, Anthony Fasano and Carlo Calabrese Jr.

Joe Slattery, the quarterback at Cedar Grove High School and Jack Kinney, a wide receiver from  Caldwell High School, were also selected for the 2014 team.
