Verona United Soccer Club is inviting current kindergarten and first grade students to a town-wide Soccer Taster event on Friday, May 30. It’s an opportunity to learn how to play soccer from Verona United’s New York Red Bull trainers, play with friends, meet new friends from other Verona schools, and eat hot dogs, burgers and ice cream. There is no cost to attend or try out. During the Soccer Taster, Verona United Soccer Club will be holding tryouts for the Fall 2014/Spring 2015 Seasons.

Participation is not limited to Verona, but is open to children who live in Cedar Grove, the  Caldwells, Roseland, Essex Fells, and Montclair. Tryouts for the U7 team are open to boys and girls  born between Aug. 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008, and for the U8 team, those born between Aug. 1, 2006 and July 31, 2007. Anyone interested in trying out for U8 division (and any interested U7s) should arrive at the Centennial Field lot to check in between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Time on the Linn Drive field will be from 5 to 6:15 p.m. for the U8 division. If any interested players cannot make the event on May 30, no worries! Simply contact Larry Raff at 973-239-0556.
