It was a bittersweet night for five Verona High School seniors last evening. Matt Thompson, Spencer Koenig, Nathaniel Gabriel, Walt Brandt and Joseph Kubacki were recognized before the game for their time on the boys lacrosse team. But when the Hillbillies took the field, they were quickly overpowered by their opponent.Verona was only able to score three times, thanks to junior Brian Wagner and freshmen Jack Farrell and Doug Spardel, while Livingston High School put 17 on the scoreboard. Livingston senior Billy Mandl had five of those goals.
With the loss, the VHS team dropped to 3-12. Its next game is at Blair Academy next Thursday.
