Verona Special Achievement Award
Coach Jeff Stiefbold & the 2014 Verona High School Girls Volleyball Team
The 2014 Verona High School Girls Volleyball Team, under the direction of Coach Jeff Stiefbold, made history this year. In only his first year as the Hillbillies’ coach, Coach Stiefbold led the ladies to a 17 and 7 season, winning the Super Essex Conference Liberty Division championship for only the second time in the 30-year history of Verona volleyball. They also finished ninth in the NJSIAA Group 1 standings throughout the state.
Some of the recognition earned by individuals on the team includes Alex Luehs, 1st Team All SEC Liberty Division, 2nd Team All Essex County; Eliza Sniatkowski, 1st Team All SEC Liberty Division, Honorable Mention All Essex County; Jessica Parsons, 2nd Team All SEC Liberty Division; Paige Farrell, Honorable Mention All SEC Liberty Division; Jackie Brunner, Honorable Mention All Essex County.
Not withstanding the incredible success and official accolades bestowed on Jeff throughout his more than 25-year career as a high school volleyball coach before he came to Verona, (which is extensive), as a result of the performance of the Verona volleyball team this year, he was also named Essex County Volleyball Coach of the Year.
