Wow! This is a first for us here at MyVeronaNJ.com, but we’re very excited! The four-year anniversary of our Crock It! slow cooker recipe series is coming up on February 14. In those four years, while we have reprinted recipes (with permission of course) and posted plenty of original ones, we have never been granted the opportunity to try a product from another company and share it with our readers.

Recently, the Campbell Soup Company launched a line of Slow Cooker Sauces. I had seen these in the store, but was skeptical. There isn’t much that comes pre-made that isn’t loaded with ingredients that we would never put in our own home-cooked foods. Between added colors, preservatives and thickeners, this is the reason I make my own ice cream. But I’m so excited to say that the Campbell sauces look awesome. I can pronounce every ingredient on the label and recognize familiar ingredients like red peppers, vinegar, onions, and spices. All I have to do is add meat!

Better than that, the people at Campbell’s sent me all six sauces to try! But, what fun would it be to try these all by myself? None at all, so we’re sharing them with you. Here’s the deal:

There are six sauces. I am trying the Mexican Red Chile Taco and will give the other five away to readers who leave a comment telling me which sauce they want to try. I will deliver the sauce to you, and all we ask in return is a review, a photo, and what you liked or didn’t like about using it. Deadline: February 21. That’s it.

Here are your choices:
Hawaiian Luau (just add pork)
Tavern Style Pot Roast (just add beef)
Apple Bourbon BBQ (just add pork)
Sweet Korean BBQ (just add beef)
Moroccan Spiced Stew (just add chicken)

Sauce giveaways will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis, so get commenting. Vegetarians, please feel free to chime in if you think these sauces can be used with vegetables, beans or tofu. We’re excited to see how these turn out!

  1. I would LOVE to try the Apple Bourbon BBQ! I usually make mine with Diet Dr. Pepper and whatever BBQ sauce is in my fridge, so trying “real” BBQ would be nice for a change!!!

  2. Amy, so sorry but the Apple Bourbon BBQ is also already taken. Tavern Style Pot Roast and Moroccan Stew are available. The Moroccan Spiced Stew has green olives and lemon and looks relish. On a side note, I’d love to know more about that Diet Dr. Pepper and BBQ sauce thing you have going….

  3. Palma, it’s all yours!
Many thanks to our testers. I’ll be emailing each of you individually so I know where to drop off your sample sauces. It will be within the next two days before it snows again!
    Stay safe and warm everyone!
