Girls Basketball Defeats Glen Ridge

The Verona High School girls basketball team cemented its standing in the Super Essex Conference by defeating Glen Ridge, 37-27, at home.

Julie Rosenberg led the scoring for Verona with 13 points and seven rebounds. Fellow senior Sarah O’Neil was close behind with 14 points.

The girls now have an 8-5 record, putting them in second place in the SEC’s Independence Division just behind Bloomfield High School. They face Newark’s West Side High School on Thursday at home.
