On Wednesday, August 21, a group of children from Verona held a bake sale and rainbow loom sale at Verona Pool with all proceeds donated to Team Zoey and the Progeria Research Foundation. The PRF is working on a cure for Progeria, a rapid aging syndrome afflicting children, including Verona’s Zoey Penny.
The children had worked all summer making rainbow loom bracelets, necklaces and rings to sell at the fundraiser, and their hard work paid off: The sale raised more than $700.
