The Subway franchise at the intersection of Bloomfield and Pompton avenues was robbed late Monday night by three armed men.
According to the Verona Police Department, the three men entered the Subway located at 45 Bloomfield Avenue just before 11 p.m. They had pulled up in a white-colored four-door sedan, which police say may have been a newer model Toyota Camry with passenger side damage.
Two of the men entered the store and immediately went behind the counter. They ordered a female employee to lie down on the ground and used white plastic zip ties to bind her hands and her feet. The police say they demanded instructions on how to operate the touch screen cash register. Approximately $400 in cash was taken. The men left the store in the white vehicle and headed toward Montclair.
The police are not releasing a description of the suspects at this time. If you know anything that could help solve the crime, call the desk at 973-239-5000.
