MyVeronaNJ-Holy-SpiritThe Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit will have a weekly program for children, led by Rev. Lucy Ann Dure, during Lent. Children in age-appropriate groups will rotate through activities focusing on Lenten Bible stories and themes to prepare for Easter. The activities include song and movement, preparation of a drama and making a large tomb for Easter.

Our children’s Lenten program will begin at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26 with a Bible story and snack, and end at 4:30. This program will run five sessions through to Holy Week at the end of March. It will culminate in the building of a papier macho tomb that is big enough to walk in, an Easter drama, and music to share with the congregation at Easter Sunday service, March 31 at 9:30 a.m.

The church, which is located at 36 Gould Street across from the middle school field is inviting children to come to as many of the sessions as they can. Parents may drop off children or stay for the fun. For more information, call the church at (973) 239-2850.

UPDATE: The Tuesday, February 26, session been cancelled: Rev. Lucy Ann is under the weather. Other days will go on as planned.
