David Bovich is a sophomore at St. Peter’s Prep High School who attended Brookdale Avenue School and H.B. Whitehorne Middle School. He is now working on his Eagle Scout service project and is seeking financial support from the community.

The project is a transforming a room at the prep school into a food pantry. Bovich says he  will lead a team of scouts and other volunteers in cleaning, repairing, restoring and painting the room.”Like many communities in New Jersey, Jersey City experienced major flooding with Hurricane Sandy,” Bovich says. “Now, more than ever, the need for the pantry is significant.”

“My Eagle Scout project will provide a large space for students to collect, sort, store and distribute donations, in an ongoing fashion,” Bovich adds. “St. Peter’s will be able to better help support local food pantries or soup kitchens, and better support other needy people such as victims of natural or man made disasters. Students will also learn management and organizational skills as they run the Pantry. Ultimately, St. Peter’s hopes to offer a Social Ethics course incorporating the Pantry.”

If you can help, send a checks made out to “Verona BSA Troop 2” (with the memo written as “David Bovich Eagle Scout Project”) to:
