Verona Park is always a lovely place for a stroll. But over the past year, it has gotten quite a bit prettier at twilight. This past May, Essex County embarked on a $1 million upgrade to the boathouse and the lighting around the park. It installed lampposts that draw their inspiration from Verona Park’s early days as a town picnic ground, on land donated by a Civil War officer whose house overlooks the park to this day. The twilight lighting is today’s “Verona View”.

“Verona View” is a new daily photo feature from MyVeronaNJ.com that highlights people, places and events in Verona, N.J. Take a photo with your camera phone, DSLR or anything in between and send it in. MyVeronaNJ.com will feature one reader photo every day.
