As many of you already know, H.B. Whitehorne student Maya Fortgang will be playing the part of Brigitta in the Paper Mill Playhouse’s production of “The Sound of Music”.
In her honor, the Paper Mill has graciously donated two tickets for the evening performance on Wednesday, November 28. The show starts at 7 p.m.
If you want to win them, you’re going to have to enter our contest. What kind of contest? We debated doing some sort of “Sound of Music” trivia, but frankly Google makes those kinds of contests way too easy. We could have asked what was Fortgang’s performance at the Spotlight Player’s Talent Night, but most of you know our site so well that that too would be easy.
So here’s the contest question:
Where is your favorite place to hear the sounds of music in Verona?
Put your answer, your real name and your real email address in the Comments box below by midnight this Thursday, November 15. We’ll collect all the answers, toss them into a hat, and pick a winner on Friday, November 16, at 9 a.m.
We don’t know what kind of whistle Captain Von Trapp would blow to start this contest, so just get going!
MY favorite place to listen to the sounds of music in Verona would be sitting near the the white bridge looking at Verona lake.
My favorite place would be at the Verona Park:)
My favorite is when it’s still early in september and we still have all the windows open and you can hear the marching band practicing. I love the sound of the drums. It brings me back to my days as a member of the band!
My 7year old daughther loves this movie and sings the songs all the time… So I hope we win!!
So besides her singing at home hearing her sounds of music…We love being at the Verona Park and hearing the OLL Church bells!!
Anywhere the Verona High School Marching Band or Concert Band play.
On Dodd Terrace listening to the Verona High School Band.
There’s no place like sitting in the stands at the VHS Festival of Bands, listening to the Marching Maroon & White. Well, maybe also hearing the VHS Concert band play at Rutgers!
My favorite place to listen to the music of Verona is walking through town on a Sunday and hearing the bells from the various churches in town.
Jazz Night at VHS!
Nothing like listening to your child play his heart out at home while practicing for the Band state championships – or listening to them (marching drums) from a mile away in my own back yard while BBQ-ing.
At Verona High School at the Winter and Spring concerts!
I like to listen to the music of Verona on my front porch in late August when the marching band practices.
Sitting in the backyard with some good music on…enjoying all the simple things around me…kids playing, breeze softly blowing, a good book in hand, sun shining down.
At Verona High School!
At the elementary schools’ winter and spring concerts. I love to hear children sing.
Verona High School Jazz Night, they are amazing.
Just realized I forgot to let everybody know that we tossed the names of the commenters into a hat on Friday morning as promised and picked Daphne Smith as the winner of the tickets.
Congratulations Daphne!
