The Forest Avenue SCA wants you to know about a collection drive for the k-8 elementary school in Lavallette. The school has been displaced due to the mandatory evacuation of the barrier island, and may be unable to get back to its building for eight months or more. The Lavallette school does not have access to any of their school supplies and needs supplies to function at their satellite loction.

If you want to help the school, the Forest SCA is suggesting gift cards to Staples, Costco, Target, Best Buy, Visa/MasterCard, Walmart, K-Mart, or checks payable to the “Lavallette School”.

The school is also interested in borrowing laptop computers for their students if anyone has access to computers.

If your child goes to Forest, donations can be sent Attn: Donna Fauerbach – Lavallette School Relief via your child’s backpack, please mark clearly “The Lavallette School” on your donation. If not, you can drop things by the main office at Forest or contact Fauerbach by email or at 973-857-8287. You can also mail donations to St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, C/O Lavallette School, 2200 Church Road, Toms River, NJ 08753

The Forest SCA is also alerting people to the needs of hard-hit Sayreville. Residents there need diapers, toiletries, socks for children and adults and underwear. Donations can be sent to Our Ladies of Victories Parish, 36 Main Street, Sayreville, NJ 08872.
