UPDATE: Much of the south end of Cedar Grove is without power. The traffic light is out by Dunkin’ Donuts and CVS, and the Foodtown plaza is dark. Appears to be a blown transformer past Saint Catherine of Siena.

A power outage has developed in the northwest corner of Verona by Verona High School. The Hillwood senior citizens building has been affected, as well as homes north of VHS along Fairview.

According to Police Chief Doug Huber, the outage appears to have been caused by car accident in Cedar Grove at the intersection of Pompton and Fairview. There are also ongoing power problems in Montclair.

Huber says PSE&G is aware of the problem and is on its way.
