The Board of Trustees of the Verona Public Library has named a new director. She is Mary Torrey, most recently the director of the William Jeanes Memorial Library in Lafayette Hill, Pa.

According to Donna D’Alessio, president of the library board, Torrey brings over 20 years of administrative experience to her new position. She has also been the director of two municipal libraries in New Jersey, East Hanover and Park Ridge. Torrey will begin her position on October 1.

Jim Thomas, who had been with the Verona Library for 30 years, stepped down as director in June.
